Holiday Inn Chicago North Shore, An Ihg Hotel, Skokie

I had a mixed experience at this hotel. The rooms were comfortable but faced the pool courtyard on the weekend, which led to bugs, a broken shower head, and a dirty tub-mat. Despite this, the room was still cozy. The service was a bit lacking as the staff seemed confused when asked about parking and didn't provide clear directions to our room. However, Ismail Khan was very helpful and accommodating during our stay. The location was convenient for my needs but appeared understaffed in cleaning personnel and the dining area. The dining experience was disappointing, with an extra charge for breakfast and unfriendly staff. On the bright side, the hotel had a great location and an open plan conference area. The parking on Friday night was not good, and the buffet lacked variety, with stale pancakes. The artisan bread was a standout offering. Overall, the facilities were adequate.

My stay at the hotel had its ups and downs. The room I got was not the best; it felt like there was a jackhammer in the room, and unfortunately, my room had no window to the outside, just facing the indoor pool. It was located in the back part of the hotel, in an older section, and overall, it was a bit dumpy. On the bright side, breakfast was included, and that was a plus.
